Governor Taps Three California Western Alumni to Serve as Superior Court Judges
 
More than 130 California Western alumni
serve as judges at the state and national level

SAN DIEGO, January 3, 2013 - Congratulations to California Western alumni the Honorable Rita C. Federman ’89, Lily L. Sinfield ’98, and Elizabeth G. Macias ’99 for recently being appointed to judgeships by Governor Jerry Brown.

Federman, who has served as a U.S. Magistrate since 2004, will now serve as a San Luis Obispo Superior Court judge. Judge Federman also serves on the board of directors of the San Luis Obispo Legal Alternatives Corporation.

Governor Brown appointed Sinfield to serve as a San Bernardino Superior Court judge. She worked as a juvenile court officer in San Bernadino from 2008 to 2012.

Macias will serve as a judge in Orange County Superior Court. She started working as a deputy federal public defender in 1999, and is a member of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board of Directors.

More than 130 California Western alumni serve as judges at the state and national level, including the former Judge Advocate Generals for the United States Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
