What law school ought to be.

West Seegmiller Donor Spotlight

William “West” Seegmiller graduated from the University of California, Davis, and earned his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.  He attended the Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers for his post graduate education. Since starting his own firm in 1981, William has focused his practice on helping injured persons and their families.

His firm, Seegmiller Johnson Attorneys, has offices in Irvine and Las Vegas. The firm has some of the most accomplished personal injury attorneys in the state. Members of the firm are celebrating over 25 years of continuous Plaintiff's verdicts. They hold the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and are certified members of the prestigious Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

We had a moment to catch up with West and ask him a few questions about why he supports California Western School of Law. This is what he had to say:

Why do you support California Western? What makes California Western different from other law schools?
Reputation. The advice most often given in answer to questions regarding how to choose a professional is by reputation. The school is well known in the legal community and well respected not only for it's higher bar passage rate and two-year program but commitment to higher social issues such as the Innocence Project.

Your gift supports student scholarships. Why do you direct your giving that way?
Students always need money. But more than that; it is direct giving to someone who will likely return the favor later in life. I received this type of help and personally feel a need to continue it.

Why would you encourage others to give to California Western?
It will all add up. Many little streams make a river. California Western knows this and is constantly adding to this flow. Money is the lubricant of any professional school. It can do so much good in the right hands.

What advice would you give to current California Western students?
My advice is always the same and simple: It is not that the task becomes easier, it is that your ability to perform it that increases. Work hard with a positive outlook.
