Lori Boyle is the Director of Alumni Affairs.  Lori previously served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations and the Associate Director, Alumni Relations.

Lori seeks to connect with California Western alumni to encourage volunteer support and involvement as well over all alumni participation. She manages the school’s alumni outreach programs, such as managing the operations and programming of the Alumni Association and its board of directors,  regional alumni clubs,  the Alumni of the Year Awards, Annual Alumni Weekend Celebration,  Annual Golf Tournament, board and volunteer management and development, alumni stewardship and recognition events and is responsible for the direction, organization and implementation of the all events, programs, activities and outreach to alumni and friends of the law school both locally and regionally.    

Lori works closely with the SBA and the many student organizations that reside on campus to establish and foster relationships with her office and the Alumni Association Board of Directors.  This also includes her managing the fundraising efforts of the 3L Class Gift Campaign.

Lori has dedicated over 25 years in higher education in the areas of alumni affairs, development, administrative, program and event management.  She previously served as Director of Alumni Relations at UCLA School of Law, UCLA School of Social Welfare and National University.  She also served as Assistant Director of Regional Development at UCSD, Assistant Director of Development at UCLA School of Social Welfare and Administrative Director for the UCLA Office of Government and Community Relations. She received her Masters of Social Welfare degree in planning, administration, and community organization from UCLA, a Bachelor of Arts degree in social welfare from California State University, Chico and an Associate Arts degree from Boston University.  In 1992, Lori was selected as the student commencement speaker for the UCLA School of Social Welfare.

Marlene BlasAssociate Director, Meetings and Events

Marlene Blas has served as Associate Director for Meetings and Events at California Western School of Law in San Diego since August 2002. In this role, she is responsible for the planning and execution of 80-100 annual programs. Key among these are: conferences, workshops, speaker series, commencement, alumni weekend, receptions throughout the U.S., and bar admission ceremonies at the Supreme Court of the United States.

Blas received her master of tourism administration from The George Washington University School of Business in the event and meeting management concentration, a bachelor’s degree in journalism and marketing from California State University, Long Beach, and a certificate in event management from the University of San Diego. Blas attained the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, an internationally recognized certification program that evaluates the competency of meeting professionals.

In addition to lecturing internationally and online for industry conferences, Blas is the program advisor and lead instructor for the California State University, San Marcos meeting and event planning certificate program. Blas has held numerous leadership roles at the chapter and international level for Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and is a recipient of the “Community Leader of the Year” award from San Diego MPI.  She is on the editorial board for The Journal of Event Management, a peer review journal, and she is co-editor for Meeting and Event Analysis: Tales from the Trenches.

 The Marlene Blas San Diego MPI Student Member Scholarship was created in 2012 and endowed by Blas to support students currently enrolled in a hospitality and/or meetings certificate program.

Lielah J. Minoo • Assistant Director, Alumni Affairs

Lielah J. Minoo is the Assistant Director of Alumni Programming and Outreach. In partnership with Lori Boyle, Lielah assists in the development, management and implementation of the law school's alumni programs. In this role, Lielah is responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of regional and local alumni receptions, alumni events, alumni board activities and programs and Alumni Weekend. 

Prior to her work at the law school, Lielah served in vital positions at the Violence Intervention Program at LAC + USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. After two years of work, under a grant written to help implement the first clinic of its kind, Lielah was awarded the "Most Valuable Employee" recognition for her role as the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Clinic's Medical Case Manager. After her two years as the FASD Medical Case Manager, Lielah was retained by the Executive Director of the VIP as a Research Assistant, to help assist with grant writing and fundraising. Raised in Calabasas, CA, Lielah studied Psychology at California Lutheran University.
